Tooling aids production for every type of manufacturing. For instance, you have produced a fastener used in mobile home skirting kits. To keep up with customer demand, you need to make 1500 a month. You have been able to do this with one person with minimal skills using a punch. Then something happens. Worker gets carpal tunnel or customer demands increase or there is a design change in the fastener. You no longer can produce what you need with existing tools. Your worker needs something more ergonomic. Your customers need shorter lead times. You need to some time to think about producing the new fastener. What to do? Can’t stop the line to think about how to re-tool or re-train.

BREEDT R & D SKAGIT can assist with production challenges facing global and local manufacturers with initial production cost models, work with raw material suppliers, and low volume batch preproduction quality process. Andries L. Breedt
Andries owner and head engineer, emigrated from South Africa with decades of international experience in product design and engineering across a broad spectrum of industries. His passion for the future of U.S. manufacturing fuels innovative new products and processes. U.S. manufacturing renaissance requires knowledgeable and internationally certified toolmakers.
He was founder and owner of Breedt Production Tooling in Kent which he has handed over to his sons to focus on development and expansion of the tool and die industry in Skagit County.
Lynton S Harris
Lynton brings to Skagit County decades of tool room experiences with the Ford Motor Company out of Essex, England and Kinetics Drive Solutions in Langley BC. While at Ford Motor Company, he gained all relevant qualifications in machining and toolroom processes.
Once Covid-19 restrictions were lifted, Lynton moved from Canada to be with his American wife and family. He is looking forward to further challenges and this exciting new beginning.
Breedt RD Skagit designed and built a camera mount for the Space Needle. It utilizes a conductive bearing which allows 360 rotation of the Panocam with no obstructed views while providing lightening protection. Roman Lamdan, shop manager and machinist extraordinaire, takes on many challenges of R & D work, including breath taking installations and maintenance checks!
